Parent/Caregiver Education Event- Breaking Down the Systems

June 16 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Receiving an official diagnosis is just the beginning, but what comes next can feel overwhelming. Navigating the education system, connecting with county services, and accessing the right supports are all critical steps and it’s hard to know where to start. This education session is designed to give Minnesota families a clear, practical overview of the systems available to their child, including the fundamentals of special education, early intervention, and county disability services. You will walk away knowing what each service is, who qualifies, and how to access it, along with the tools you need to move forward with confidence. Whether your child was diagnosed last month or last year, you will leave tonight with a better understanding of your rights, your options, and your next steps.

Presenter Bio: Hana Beyer is a licensed speech language pathologist and founder of Lattice Autism Consulting, based in the Twin Cities. She has worked on a birth to 3 early intervention team for a local school district and brings both professional expertise and personal experience to her work, as her younger brother was diagnosed with level 3 autism when she was 15. Hana started Lattice to address a gap she has witnessed for over a decade: families receiving a diagnosis and being left to navigate complex systems on their own. Her work spans families across a range of diagnoses and disabilities, and is focused on education, empowerment, and making sure every family knows what is available to their child and how to access it.
